Discover the maximum varietal expression linked to a singular terroir

The late ripening of Mazuelo (carignan) guarantees good acidity. The manual selection of grape bunches and grains prevents bitterness and vegetable characteristics from appearing. It is common to find Mazuelo as a blend in many wines but Bodegas Verum is working to achieve excellence and varietal singularity together with a special terroir with this grapes.

Aged for 12 months in new French oak barrels of 300 liters.

Variety: MAZUELO, also known as: Cariñena, Mazuela, Samsó, Caranyana, Crinyana, Granyena, Caragnane and Carignan.

Criado durante 12 meses en barrica de roble francés nuevo de 300 litros.

    Estate: El Romeral

    Parcela: 4

To be served: de 12 a 14 grados

Aging potential: Our advice is: buy and enjoy it. If not, you have up to six years from harvest to enjoy it at its best. From there, let the wine evolve and build its own history.

Tasting notes: Cherry red with médium dark red rim. On the nose it is complex with good intensity with earthy memories, roots and subtle mineral touch. It is balsamic and evokes memories of aromatic herbs, all in the context of red fruits and plum. The herbs  bring freshness and a subtle memory of black licorice, balsamic. On the palate it shows an excellent acidity and balance with mature red fruits. A persistent rounded fresh wine. A new face in the viticulture of the natural region of La Mancha. In the aftertaste it is persistent with remarkable  strawberry character.

Food pairing: We can break down topics by recommending white fish, also salmon and cod. As for meats, it matches birds and other white meats. Since Verum has planted it in Ciudad Real, how about a lamb stew?.
